Who We Are

Prison Outreach Inc offers a holistic re-entry program involving prisoners and their families to create a more successful transformation process for those re-entering society upon release from a prison environment.

Our mission is to work with prison staff and community partners to design, create, and implement effective re-entry programming for individuals being released from prison back into society.

Our purpose is to support and encourage the reunification process through practical development opportunities and helping to address immediate and crucial needs.

Long Term Employment

Almost 68% of those released from prison return within three years, and nearly 80% within five years.   The most significant contributing factor to the recidivism is the inability to obtain adequate and sustainable means of income to provide for themselves and their families.

Long-Term Housing

Long Term Employment

Currently, in most states across the U.S., the transitional housing for people released from prison consists of temporary accommodation lasting no longer than six (6) months.  Our organization works with private real estate investors to facilitate an innovative, practical, and reproducible solution providing creative housing options with the ultimate goal of leading to homeownership for the individuls and their families.

Why We Do It

Real Change Requires Changing The Way We Do Things

Our Communities - Our Responsibility

Prison Outreach Inc is on the front line of this movement, but we cannot do it alone.  We know that by investing in the life of a broken person, we get to witness the greatness of a restored life.   Anyone can effect change - especially when giving of their time and from their heart.

Industry -vs- Individuals

Our criminal justice system will never improve because the prison industry is a multi-billion-dollar-a-year business.   Therefore, our communities must accept responsibility for taking action to stay safe and hold our citizens accountable.

What Difference Does It Make

Eric DeWayne

"If my life were a newspaper, the headline would read "From Prison To The Palace, a Jesus Journey."    Eric, Prison Outreach Inc founder, understands the blessings of transformation and the need for realistic resources and sustainable opportunities to facilitate that transformation.  He has worked tirelessly and relentlessly on behalf of the incarcerated community to make sure that these opportunities exist but, more importantly, are accessible.

"For me, it was the accountability.  Knowing that I had failed my family, my friends, my associates, and my reputation over the years, I tried very hard to cultivate - not to manipulate, but to hold myself as a person of integrity.  When I was incarcerated, I was at my lowest point in life ... God sent me POI and Eric, who continue to be an inspiration, an encouragement, and an outlet for individuals who are serious about improving themselves and their relationships to prepare for release and re-entry."

"Prison Outreach Inc. has been nothing but a blessing to me. I was stuck in a dead-end job that didn’t value my worth, and even though they hired me because I have a background felt as tho I was only worth certain positions that capped out at wages below the standard for my position. Because of Prison Outreach, I now have a career with a company that values me as an employee, has great benefits, opportunities for growth, and great wages. I’m grateful for Prison Outreach. Eric has been nothing short of a blessing and really has a heart for making sure guys like me get a second chance at life. "
